Crummy streaming video, but they have a good play-by-play at the end detailing who got in the most shots.
Take a group of deviants, pump them with steroids, treat them like war heros, never convict them when they rape/shoot/steal, and pay them obscene sums of money to play a children's game.
Now if that's not a recipe for good times and wholesome family entertainment I don't know what is! :)

I saw it on the news. I think both the players and fans acted poorly.

Sloppy standing technique. No takedown defense to speak of. D-

Ha! I agree. I was hoping at least one of the fans would execute a perfect jump reverse hook kick and KO one of the players.
Hip-hop culture has it's limitations I guess.
Wheres the self control. But why the hell did those fans throw beer and soda at the coaches and the Ron Artest when he went into the locker room? Stupid fans both people are equally to blame.

Saddest spectacle Ive ever seen.
I don't care what the fans throw out at the players, for all I care it could be large mouth bass's hittin them square in the face.
The players job is to turn the other cheek, crikey - all that money and they can't have thicker skin? Artest? I say never let him back in the NBA.
It is the Police's job to find the fans who threw stuff, not the players.
My view is the players should've been arrested on site as one poster already stated. Fans, take a walk - time served. Two wrongs don't make a right. I say, if the players kept their cool, then the fans should be arrested.
The NBA needs to take a serious step to see that this never happens again.

Full Contact Tae Qwon Ball (see the attachment).
I think that both players and fans showed a serious lack of control. However, that being said, the fans are way out of control. You can't put this on the shoulders of the players alone. If you were walking down the street and tossed a cup and beer, or a bag of nuts at a person, I think you would be fair game for retribution. Where I live, you can defend yourself when assaulted and it does not make the first assault go away. Any fan who ended up on the floor of the arena at the scorers table was also fair game (imho) . Kind of like walking into the middle of a war with two sides shooting at each other. Hockey, Baseball and now Basketball have all had player/fan clashes. If you have been to an arena event lately, it is NOT a place you want to take your kids (in some cities). The language and gestures used by the fans is abhorrent. Lets see what kind of personal damage happens when this type of event happens at an NFL game! The bottom line is the fans tossed stuff at the bench because they thought they could get away with it, as they have in the past. The game just changed.

Now that the suspensions have been handed out, Ron Artest will have the time he wanted to promote his "gangsta" rap CD.

It has been suggested that he staged the court incident for publicity to promote the launch of his gangsta rap. But, he sure didn't count on being suspended for the rest of the season and out a cool $5 mil.
When your job is to entertain paople and you fail some times they wil act childish out of their own emotional imaturity.
Actually, he did kind of entertain us with that stunt.

Since this event took place, many have been bemoaning the deplorable actions of the players and fans, but especially the players, and, most especially, Ron Artest, for going into the stands and for punching the wrong guy, who apparently didn’t even throw anything. Me, I don’t know.
I tend to look at it as a new attitude of pre-emptive self-defense for the NBA.
After all, wasn’t he just following America’s new doctrine, by going after a weaker fan who had nothing to do with the attack? Wasn’t he being “pre-emptive?” Was he supposed to wait until a fan had a more dangerous, noxious chemical drink to toss on him?
Or perhaps some “global test” by the NBA? Should he be bound to only defending himself when the NBA says it’s okay, or is he within his rights to pursue his sovereign right to self-defense unilaterally, and preemptively?
I mean, what’s he supposed to do, just lie there and take it when some terrorist in the stands tosses a drink on him? Do nothing? Why not strike out at someone-anyone-as long as he’s doing something?
After all, he was only following our President’s example, right?
"Bring ‘em on!"
Heck, you got it wrong, my friend. Artest should get UN approval and invite the French and the Germen to help him before he attacked. He needs allies. Look what acting alone got him? He is gonna be out $5 cool mil !!

It is a shame that after the decades of Larry Byrd, Kevin McHale, Julius Erving, Wilt Chamberlain, and Pete Maravich; we now have a sport full of degenerate thugs that are one step away from the gangbangers they spend their time with off the court.

Agreed. (Don't forget that original pimp-daddy, Walt Frazier, though.....)

Wilt Chamberlain?! C'mon man, if we're going to try to compare today's "thugs" to yesterday's noble sportsman, at least pick someone who hasn't set the record for paternity tests.
I don't think it's fair to say that the quality of character in athletes has degraded with time. Since sports have existed in the professional arena, there have been plenty of *******s willing to abuse the fame with a smile. You can go back to Ty Cobb, to Kobe Bryant, I think the mentality is the same. I just think we hear about more now because it's such a ubiquitous fixture in OUR lives to hear about the lives of the rich and famous. How else do you explain Paris Hilton?

Wilt Chamberlain?! C'mon man,
Yeah I know the man gets LOTS of Father's Day cards  , but at least he didn't act like a thug on the court. That was the theme of the thread. Now as far as sports figures being real turds in life. I have to agree with you 100%. Many of these people can't find the decency to remain "normal" after being paid millions of dollars to play a game.
There is some good players in the league that are young but unfoolish like Lebron.
