i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as i begin training more extensively.my goals would be to spar an hour or so if needed and still be able to have very effective strikes and kicks.one concern is the amount of focus on aerobic vs anaerobic for example 60/40 aero/anaero.thanks in advance.
when you start with sparring a basic endurance (aerobic) is a must, but most sparring is anaerobic. Means your training should be 70-80% anaerobic, drills with kicks and punches, combinations and sparring itself. If your goal is a competition, then try to adapt your endurance. f.e. you have to fight 3x3 min. and a 1 min. break between, than train exactly that way. 3 min full power 1 min break. Your body gets used to this pattern and learns to recover more quickly when you got a break.
