Thanks to Budoseek, I found a teacher in my area who teaches "Combat Jujutsu", Sambo, and "American Submission Wrestling". It all sounds very interesting, and the instructor has a nice long list of accomplishments and awards, but I'm wondering about ASW, what do you guys know about it, what sort governing body is it associated with, and so on. The website (http://combatjiujitsu.tripod.com/index.html) says:
"The American Submission Wrestling Association International is one of the only gi-less organizations to give out rankings to its students. The syllabus and curriculum have been tested in the fires of competition and reality...any question about it's effectiveness have been answered. "Unfortunately I can't find any other references to the ASWAI other than this one, and I don't know who answered these questions about it's effectiveness, or where. Any info would be greatly appreciated guys!

Combat JuJitsu really sounds like it's coming from Walt Bayless. Walt Bayless labels his material that and produced some instructionals covering it. Maybe it's not his material and maybe it is. I guess you'll have to go there and find out for yourself.

This is the most I can offer without getting all crazy with the research and stuff. I'm just feeling lazy today, I guess. ;) If/when you go there and have a chance to check it out, I'd appreciate you making another post telling us about it. I'm originally from Arkansas (Russellville), but you'd never know that if you heard me speak. :D

Peace
