View Full Version : need help/advice.
I know kids are kids but when I get them to do technique in lines, they have no issue. BUT when it comes to hitting pads... it's like day 1 all over. Anyone have any advice to help break this? I suppose the same goes for sparring.
I have idea's and "little things" that help but maybe someone else has a "little thing" different from mine. Thanx
Using a kicking shield for a front thrust kick, you can say to kick through the bag until you ae blue in the face but they have a hard time grabbing what that really means.
Place a kicking shield on the floor, and say to pretend there is a giant spider under it, stomp the shield and squash the spider.
Do that, then pick the shield up and say the spider is behind it, squash the spider...
If the lines work for you then keep using them. Have them do the practicals on the bag in lines. Have them hit the bag five or more and then have the shield/pad holder go to the back of the line, the striker becomes the shield holder...yada...yada...
Keeps them "in line" as it were...
