I am currently looking at beginning to study hapkido and am interested in some information about schools in southern California. Does anyone have any information on a Master Spillman or GM Hong S Myung and their lineage? Is GM Myung related to GM Kwang S Myung who I think has a dojang in SoCal? Thanks

I don't know much about those folks.. but.. I know Master Les Connard and the Jang Mu Won Hapkido folks are top notch and in the So Cal area....check out www.kimshapkido.com... I have personally met and worked out with Master Connard and a few of his people so this isn't heresay from me.... they are EXCELLENT Hapkido players that know their stuff and can teach very well also.. good hardcore Hapkido people

Myung,Hong Sik is the younger brother of Myung,Kwang Sik i believe he teaches in Ill somewhere.

As far as Spillman goes he is under Myungs organization and resides in Ca.

He also Holds rank under the KHF . But he and is students are under the WHF banner

You might also want to check out GM DeAlba. Master DeAlba is a very nice person, and he is a good martial artist (albeit that he does not teach Hap Ki Do perse). His art is based on Hwa Rang Do.
