View Full Version : MMA Gloves & Shin Pads
Anyone have a special favorite and know where to get a good price on these?
My MMA gloves are shaped funny and I get my foreknuckles all bloodied up when I use them on a bag. I need a better pair.
And for shin pads - something sooooooooooooooooofffffffft that won't come off no matter how hard I work, like my belly. :)

Well, you're probably aware that Ouano makes the official MMA gloves for the UFC, so if you want the real deal, that's where you can find them; but be prepared to pay for them. Century makes an MMA-type glove that lookes pretty good to me, although I haven't used it personally. I got a free pair from mma.tv when I ordered the Fighter's Notebook package, and they're just okay. What do you want for free?
Oh yeah, and for shin pads, you might want to look for some of the boot-type shin guards that they use in Pancrase, although I have no idea where to get them.
I really love the new Primetime / Gameness sparring MMA glove.
I first heard about them on SHERDOG, saw alot of reviews about them. So i decided to poick a set up. Well they are awesome.. enough padding you dont hurt your knuckles with heavy bag work, and you dont hurt your partners face..
But not too bulky like shooto glvoes so you can still do realistic submissions.
Since i bought my first pair i have had alot of interest in them from other gyms.. that is why i started carrying them.. Check them out on my site. I posted a comparison pic with a UFC style glove aswell.

Yeah, the century gloves are what I use in all of my sparring, you can kinda see them in my avatar. They makes a $45 pair that's all leather, those are the ones I have, and they make a $30 pair which are leather and PU (what ever PU is). I've used my leather ones for about two years I think and they aren't really showing any wear at all. They're item numbers 14391, and 1439 on their website.
