Has anyone heard of him? I understand that he is considered somewhat of an "outlaw" in judo circles, but am not sure why, being unfamiliar with any politics involved.

Anyone familiar with him?

He wrote some books on judo, I'm unaware of how controversial their are or how good their content is.
