At what point would you practice with the dummy in Wing Chun ?

I don't practice Wing Chun, but I've trained with my share of dummies. :laugh:

My Sifu also introduces us to the dummy early.
He cannot believe so many schools dont let you touch one untill later.
I tend to agree with him because i like the dummy. :)
