Today we had SWAT training and I finally manged to shoot and qualify with my new sniper rifle.
Here's the breakdown of New Jesrsey's Sniper qualification. It is a timed course. There are five course of fire with a total of ten rounds. We shoot Federal Match .308 168 grain BTHP.
The temperature was at approx. 36 degrees, wet and snow with a managable wind (1 to 3 mph, about a 1/4 value,)
1st course of fire.
100 yds. 1 round Cold Bore (CB)
2nd course of fire.
Run up to 75 yds 2 rounds (1 & 2)
3rd course of fire.
Run up to 50 yds. 3 rounds (A, B, & C)
4th course of fire.
Run up to 25 yds. 3 rounds (25)
5th course of fire.
Run back to 100 yds. 1 round (Triangle)
Keep in mind the errors are soley mine since this is my first time shooting the rifle and I'm not in tuned with it yet.
It does shoot sweet though.
