Does anyone have any experience with kalaripayit? I've read about it, but there isn't a whole lot of information out there.

All I know is that it is a martial art native to India with pretty rigorous training regimens done outdoors. They have a drill called a crocodile walk that I made my students do. They hated me, which means it was a great drill :D

Hi There,

I was in India awhile ago and had the opportunity to not only practice
Kalarippayattu with a fantastic instructor but also to watch a demonstration
by his students. Kalarippayattu is a very, very old martial art with a
wide variety of skills: weapons, kicking, hand strikes, trapping & joint manipulation, massage, meditation, etc. All I can say is that I was impressed and really enjoyed training with them. On my next trip to India I am hoping to explore more training in Kalarippayattu as well as possibly brining them to Michigan to perform a series of demonstrations and seminars! Beautiful, exotic, athletic are three words that I would use to describe Kalarippayattu!
If your ever in the Alma, Michigan area and want to see what I learned look me up!
