My instructor, William Bittencourt, (a De La Riva black belt) tragically suffered a very serious stroke yesterday. He underwent a difficult surgery yesterday. I visited him today in the hospital and his condition appears stable. It is too early for the medical personnel to determine the extent of his condition, how this occurred, or his prognosis; however, he is in very good hands. Please keep him and his family (he is married with two small children) in your prayers and well-wishes.

Wow, that's tough. When he comes through this, I am sure BJJ will be a great way to get him back up to speed.

Best wishes for a speedy return to the mat!!

I've heard that they're going to be selling t-shirts to raise money to help with his medical expenses; I plan on ordering one. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Anthony, my prayers are with Mr. Bittencourt, his family, his students, and his friends.

Please let me know what we can do to help; if you are selling t-shirts to raise money, let me know.

as per the Casca Grossa newsletter

Earlier this week we received the bad news that a good friend and excellent Black Belt BJJ instructor William Bittencourt had a stroke.
William is at the hospital in Orlando, where he is starting to show some improvements. Some of his students are having some t-shirts done to sell and raise money to help his family (wife and 2 daughters), and hospital expenses (http://www.mma.tv/TUF/index.cfm?ac=ListMessages&TID=590949&FID=1) .

His friends from ATT are already donating some money as you can read on this www.mma.tv thread (http://www.mma.tv/TUF/index.cfm?ac=ListMessages&PID=1&TID=590259&FID=1&pc=122). On the thread there is a link for Paypal Donations. Any amount donated will be very much appreciated.

Paul viele, owner of World Martial arts is donating money from the sale of Bittencourt's instructional series, it's for a special price it's normal $80 and it will be sold for $24.99 or something at www.ultimateimports.com. It's a five series dvd set on the de la riva guard. Put the word donation in the discount code to get the special price.

Here is the link for a picture of the t-shirts:

Here is the link to pay for the t-shirts:

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=RUMBLEFISH1868%40YAHOO%2eCOM&item_name=shirts%20for%20William&amount=0%2e00&no_shipping=2&cn=sizes%20please&tax=0&cy_code=USD

The shirts are $20.00 (postage will be $3-4). All monies will go to William and his family. The shirts are awesome.

His condition is improving, but he has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. Thanks.
