The story of Ricky
I just got done watching this movie I don't know if anyone every heard of it but this is a great martial arts movie however it is super violent and super gory it is like a mix between fist of the north star and master killer you may want to check it out but be warned you have to have a very very strong stomach.

It's an Okay movie
I checked it out the other night. It's okay, but in no way does it come close to Fist of the North Star (old movie and the new series).

lol...I HAVE to check that out. I've seen fist of the north star and even had it on nintendo (an ancient for of multimedia entertainment). I've seen bits of master killer too, sounds great.
Why the assumption that you can beat us without rules when you can't beat us with rules? Those rules happen to protect both of us, it would seem that most have forgotten that small yet significant point. What's keeping me from maiming you for life when I get position and you obviously can't get away? The rules, take those rules away and I'll curb you [sic] right after I knock/choke you out.

My Two-Bit Review
This is a cult classic. It has the orginal Japanese comic book atmosphere, ultra-violence, gore, stupid monsters and absolutely no plot. Yet the lack of plot is compensated for/with A) memorable, goofy characters and B) super-action-gore- something I like to call "ultraviolence" in the tradition of Clockwork Orange. Yes that is right, it is a total winner in my book, I bought it from Poker Industries a few years back. It's working title is "The Story of Ricky-oh" or just "Ricki-Oh"and I still watch it. The Japanese Manga are hard to find, but they are completely worth while if you can get hold of them. The DVD was hard to get at one time, but the cult following has changed all that- now you can find it at amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/off...?condition=all "for cheap." A full review can be found here: http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=5237
I would not look into it for super-awesome "film-martial arts" though. If you are into cult films, slasher flicks or just plain camp, Riki-oh is for you. Unless you believe that you can crush tombstones by studying chi-gong, the "film-martial-arts" will not be of much martial interest to you.
While we are on the subject:
A movie I would have to absolutely 100% recommend on Ong Bak. Incredible work- without the help of wires and in the old-fashioned-Jackie-Chan genre. This movie not only kept my interest in the fight scenes (something I can't do with old kung fu movies), it had realistic sound effects, incredible action, stunts filmed from different angles and a plot that was good enough to say "it had one." Check it out at your local video store: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368909/Last edited by Mekugi; 11-07-2005 at 02:42.

The narcissism of small differences is especially true in the martial arts.

Ricky-O vs. Versus.
I still have some NES games (roms) that I play on my pc every now and then. Golgo was another good game. Versus was another good slasher-type movie to check out. If you can find the Tokyo Shock official site, then you could probably order it there.
