Game of Death
A lot people were dissapointed when Golden Harvest made an effort to complete Bruce's unfinished story "Game of Death". It also didn't help when they produced "Game of Death II".
If you owned a film studio, what would be your storyline for this title?

I would have kept the same title and then reworked the script. You know that Jackie Chan was the "replacement" Bruce Lee after he died and that guy in Kung Fu Hustle was Bruce's stunt double, so I would've attempted to get either of those two to take over the lead and continue the story. That movie was hard to watch the way they did it.

At least they tried. Of course, the cardboard cutout of Bruce in that one little scene didn't help it any.

that movie was nothing more than an attempt to capitalize and exploit his death, the script and storyline bruce came up with was more coherent and had more meaning to anyone with an understanding of the martial arts. the original had nothing to do with an actor faking his own death.

Well that's not what was suppose to happen. The actor faking his own death story was made up by Golden Harvet after Bruce died. Do you know there are actually more scenes that Golden Harvest will not release and that the other footage involving Bruce is sitting locked in a vault never to see the light of day?
In the Game of Death that is out, we see Bruce fight 3 levels.
In the released version:
1st level - Eskirma, and Nunchaku
2nd level - Hapkido
3rd level - Jeet Kune Do
Well the footage that is locked away is quite different. It not only has Bruce, but Bruce's 2 friends with him. And it is actually a 5 level pagoda, not 3.
1st level - Taekwondo
2nd level - Wing Chun Kung Fu (and I think maybe Praying Mantis)
3rd level - Eskrima and Nunchaku
4th level - Hapkido
5th level - Jeet Kune Do
It sucks that Golden Harvest wont release the 5 level version, it is really good. I actually saw a few moments of it in a documentary.Leg kicks, leg kicks, and... more leg kicks!

this footage is actually release now, available as a documentary, saw it on tlc or discovery, and level 2 is supposed to be praying mantis. also includes a lot of good insight into what the people are supposed to think during the fighting with a different style. the endin with kareem abdul jabar makes a lot more sense when they explain the light sensitivity.

I thought the 2nd level is Praying Mantis and Wing Chun? Oh well I could be wrong.

level 2 might be both, but in the documentary they referred to it as praying mantis (didn't look that way to me, but what do i know), don't know the name of the documentary, but it comes on every few months, maybe tlc or discovery lists it on their website.

You can't have the complete set until you have the yellow nunchaku.
