Hanmudo
Hello all. I was just wondering if I am the only practioner of Hanmudo here at "Budo Seek". I have not been a member here for very long, but have yet to notice anyone else who practices this style.
I am not a BB of this style of MA (or any other for that matter), but I should soon be testing for my 2nd red belt, and (if everything goes well) I should be testing for my 1st dan BB in about a year (give or take).
Anyway....just wondering if I'm the only Hanmudo representative here. Thanks!

Daron, welcome to BudoSeek. I'm sure there are others who practice your style. There are also many old-time Hapkidoin here who remember Dr. Kimm and may have trained with him at some point. I think most of us have a copy of his Hapkido I or II books.

I don't do Hanmudo, but we do have a Hanmudo BB at our school, and he knows his stuff pretty well. It seems like a good system.

Just began reading about Hanmudo, (as I had never heard of before reading your post), and it seems like a very interesting style. Full of philosophy and, seemingly, a very "rounded" style.

Thank you all for the welcome. I find that this is basically a very decent site filled with information, opinions, philosophy, and fun. I hope to be welcome here for a long time.

Easy to do: share your knowledge, treat folks with courtesy, and keep an open mind to differing viewpoints and you'll be a valuable member.

Han Mu Do here
Daron,
I am seeing Henry Chaplin of Austell,GA on the 20th to have a class and possibly sign up my wife and I and two boys (12 & 16).
It seems after many e mails this week from Henry Chaplin that the system he offers from Dr. Kimm (Han Mu Do): HKD, TSD and Judo it is a well rounded system of self defense and philosophy of life. Dr. He-Young Kimm is a well respected man in the MA community and it would be an honor to train with him.
How long have you been training in Han Mu Do and what do you like most about it?
Where are you located and who is your teacher of Han Mu Do?

Hi
I do Han Mu Do, been doing it for a couple of years now and am a green belt 8th Keub I think!
Han Mu Do is quite good, its very rounded which means you learn alot, the actual techniques we learn are pretty good and effective, but IMO we don't do enough kicking, so I'm thinking of taking up Taekwondo just once a week so work on that.
