Default New to Kung Fu have a ? about a school

Well as the title says I am new to Kung Fu and thinking about getting into it. I was wondering if any of the experts around these forums could weigh in on how legitimate/good this school seems http://www.usakungfuacademy.com any other advice that you guys/girls might be able to offer me would be great.

Thanks in advance for the help

Dunno... can't speak to it since I've never seen them move, but there are some things that look ok & others that don't.

Go look & see for yourself. Ask around the community (MA that is). See how you feel there. That kind of stuff.

Thanks for the advice. Is there anything that I should look for when attending class for the first time that might indicate to me if this school is something worth my time?

I'm really no expert, but you want to be able to see yourself using the techniques/movement you learn in real life (if self defense is your purpose for training). Of course, just starting , you won't see too much, but you should know if they teach for show off, competition, self defense, etc. They say it's a 'traditional' school, but I'm not sure what that really means. But just as Sean said, go in and see what they have to offer and make a decision based on that.
Why the assumption that you can beat us without rules when you can't beat us with rules? Those rules happen to protect both of us, it would seem that most have forgotten that small yet significant point. What's keeping me from maiming you for life when I get position and you obviously can't get away? The rules, take those rules away and I'll curb you [sic] right after I knock/choke you out.

Yes. It's not chinese martial arts it's a breakaway club from Glenn Hart. Where are you on Cape, how old are you and what do you want to learn?

you should think exactly what it is you want to be doing. A trditional shaolin style is the way to go do a web search in your area for kwoons in pak hok, chow gar, lung ying or pak mei
