You had previously posted a book for sale, Daito Ryu Hiden Daikan by Kazuoki Sogawa. This has been about a year or so ago. Have you sold the book as of yet? If so what were your overall thoughts on the book? I was thinking of treating myself to a nice book and thought I might give this one a shot. I am aware of all the negatives associated with Saigo ha, but man it just looks like a beautiful book!

Yes I still have the book. You are right, there is a lot of negativity associated with the Saigo-ha, and I really am not part of that so I don't know one stone from the other on the subject other than it sounds suspicious. It is a really nice book, and it is interesting. There are tons of pictures and illustrations and a very good company publishes it so it is easy to follow. I would recommend it if you had a collection of books, it is a curious item. I would rank it up there with "What is True Self Defense" by James Mitose- actually it is 100 times better. In fact it is more concise than many other books I have seen by "reputable" individuals.

Let me put it this way: if you don't care about lineage, and are just interested in what techniques they are teaching, it is fine. The mechanics are sound as any other. If you are overly concerned with history, then no do not get it.

Very much my impression, too. I found it and others in that line worth the price for the variety of techniques so different from what I'd seen.
