Wondering
I've never been there. I just want to hear other people's experiences at this event. That's all.

We take a group every year to compete. The competition is very broad in that you have all the regular stuff like point fighting, etc. But you have the internal arts forms and push hands, full contact Lei Tai, Suai Chiau grappling, weapons, including weapons sparring.
My favourite part is the multinational flavour of the folks that show up. Teams from Brazil, Russia, UK, Germany, Taiwan, Singapore, Mexico, Canada, and many others all attend. You can also get descent seafood and really good Italian in local restaurants.
Is your school affiliated? Where in IN are you? (OK, Lafayette. I see you like grappling. We have lots of guys doing that, too. We go to IN to compete often.) I have been trying for a long time to hold a Tai Chi competition but have not found anyone that wants to compete.
Some of my mates want to have a Chinese arts competition, too, with all the stuff outlined above. Do you think your school or group would like to? Inquiring minds, etc.Last edited by rgoad; 10-14-2007 at 16:42.

:)
I train with at Rhynos, and they teach BJJ/Judo. My kung fu training was based in NY under my sifu Ken Widman in CRCA, and Steve in Shuai Jiao. I'm hoping to get my Sifu to represent me in Lei Tai competition next year.

Good. Post again when you get ready to go. There are Lei Tai and San Chou tournaments in Ohio starting about February. You could use those as a tune up.
There is a tournament in Indy this weekend, EGO, that some of our guys are attending.Richard C. Goad
