I owe most of my injuries to Kyokushin. I wouldnt trade a one of them, made believe in will and conditioning.

BTW Kyokushin had a Muay Thai influence.

    Osu!

My first Sensei's Sensei was a student of Mas Oyama Sensei. Those Kyok guys don't play around.

What was that!?? Those were some perfectly timed bunny hops.

    Thanks Jeff!

Look! The kicking dummy keeps bouncing even after you nail it! I want one of those!
Before one can become successful, he must learn to tell the difference between what is impossible and what is merely difficult.

The only thing I'm going to add is I wish I had that rhythm.

Tony that video with Muay Thai kata...did that have ground fighting on that one too?

Basically it looks like the top 20 most vicious Ju Jutsu techniques.

I don't recall. I'll have to take a look this weekend. I'll let you know.

Default A little late weighing in, I know...

Whenever I've thrown a roundhouse kick in Muay Thai, I always drop the same-side hand, to use the motion to both add power and as a counterbalance to the kicking leg. That's how I was originally taught. However, I'll "float" my other hand over slightly, so that side isn't completely unprotected.

Some agree with this way of doing it, some don't. I've just found that it works for me.

The hand/arm on the kicking side makes a small circle(for proper counter balance) during the kicking motion and then retrieves right back to guard position right after the completion of kick.
