Judo Competition in the Beijing Olympics
I didn't get to see any of the Judo Competition in the Beijing Olympics in television. I didn't catch any on the Tivo.
To watch ippons on NBCOlypmics.com they want me to install Microsoft© Silverlight™
What the heck is that? I doubt it will even run on my Celeron with .640 gigs of ram. Now I discover Beijing Judo is barely mentioned among the trusty Budoseek crew. GRRRRRRRR.
I can't win.

Silverlight is no big deal, its some kind of plug in and it work fine.
You're not missing anything. It's a whole bunch of slap fighting, penalties, and races to see who can flop on their stomachs the fastest. Even the ippon highlight reels on NBCOlypmics.com are pitiful.Jiu-Jitsu - like chess, except you get to choke people.

Yeah, I can see all the synchronized diving I want, which is none, but to watch something like Fencing, Judo... It's not easy.
Olympic Tae Kwon Do is next week, I'd like to watch it, even though I don't do that style of sparring. The unforgivable crime is soft hitting. Do not hit at all if it can be avoided; but never hit softly. - Theodore Roosevelt

I didn't see the first day. At some point I'll have to go back and watch Taraje's matches and Matsumoto's match against Tani.
2nd day, Takata did ok but did not attack enough.
3rd day, Reser was too hestiant and not nearly aggressive enough. I missed most of Gotay's matches, I saw her get caught in repechage.
4th day, Travis Stephens showed a good game! I thought he fought hard and kept attacking. I want to see more of that from everyone.
5th day, I was pulling hard for Rousey. Her loss in semifinals was one of those things - she just got caught. She never gave up and never quit attacking, but you could tell she was disappointed to go home with Bronze - as it should be. Olsen was just disappointing. He had no business being there!Rob Thornton
