    Default Sode Tsurikomi Goshi

Can some Judoka chime in on the effectiveness of Sode Tsurikomi Goshi, do you use it in combinations, if this one of your "go to" throws what other throws do you like?

Here is a cool video compellation of the thro in competition.

It's a match ender, and a fantastic technique. I've seen it win quite a few matches. No, I can't do it, mostly because I suck. I envy those who have it down.

Is it better to enter to the left or right when your have a traditional grip. The more I look at it, it seems like a kata garuma that you couldn't quite get on your shoulders.

It's not a kata guruma because you're using the sleeves of both sides. Some of the more nontraditional variants can appear to be kata guruma - in fact I think the video you linked has one or two of them, incorrectly calling them sode. Think of a seoi with your power hand coming not from the lapel but the opposite sleeve. That's not quite it, but it's a lot closer than kata guruma.
