Traditional Gung-fu in Calgary?
Hello All!
I am looking to find a traditional kung-fu school in Calgary, Alberta. I am interested in self defense that is practical for the street and at the same time, I would love to find a club that teaches some chi kung aspects to the martial art. I have previously taken Tibetan White Crane Kung-Fu in Edmonton with Sifu Ken Dickson and I loved it. However, that was many years ago and I am finding it hard to find a reputable school in the Calgary area. If anyone knows anything or has some thoughts, please let me know.
Thanks,

There's supposed to be some Choy Li Fut up there somewhere from Buk Sing & Jiangmen.
I'm not terribly sure cities & provinces, but see if there's not somebody close by at www.choylifut.ca for a start anyway.Message: Due to the ongoing Recession, God has decided the light at the end of the tunnel will be shut off due to power costs. That is all.

Well, after some diggin I have found a couple of clubs that I'm going to check out. There is Hung gar, wing chun, and White Brow kung fu. I'm going to see the White Brow club this week and go from there. So far it is the one that most interests me. I can't seem to find the Choy Li Fut club...maybe when I'm in Chinatown where the White Brow club is I'll be able to get some more info. Thanks for your help...and again, if anyone knows anything else please let me know.

Train with the best teacher, regardless of the style. You can tell which one is the best teacher by looking at the students.
A secondary factor would be convenience. You're simply more likely to train at a place that's more convenient for you.
Don't let that second factor supercede the first one.
Good luck in your training.
