Rheumatoid arthritis 'on the rise in women' in the U.K.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/10166727.stm
Not a big surprise.
They still haven't found a definitive cause for rheumatoid problems, but it seems to me that lowering overall inflammation would be the first place to look for a treatment if not an outright cure.
Ensure adequate levels of magnesium.
Increase Omega-3 fats (fish oil is the easiest and most effective source) and decrease Omega-6 fats (vegetable oils are the largest dietary contributor).
Hyperinsulinemia can contribute to the inflammatory process. Keep insulin low as much as possible by not eating foods which cause it to spike.
Supplement with Vitamin D3; 5,000 I.U. daily would be a decent start. Before one can become successful, he must learn to tell the difference between what is impossible and what is merely difficult.
I am not a Doctor. The world has enough of those.
