Back on the mat, too.
Well, after an extended layoff precipitated by some minor surgeries that simply took a long time to heal, followed by immersion in some other projects I had going, I finally decided it was time to start rolling again. I wanted something a little closer to home--I had to drive nearly an hour in rush hour traffic to get to the last place I trained--so I began a computer search for BJJ classes.
Much to my surprise, I found a newer school that is just a mile and a half from where I live, less than a five minute drive down a sidestreet near my apartment complex. The place is called Paradigm Training Center:

So I decided to treat myself to a series of privates under black belt Renan Chavez as a belated 57th birthday present to myself. Renan was awarded his black belt by Eric Williams. My first private was this past Wednesday, and I'm still feeling it.

I heard nothing but good things about them.
Jiu-Jitsu - like chess, except you get to choke people.
