Miladi Fall Classsic Yuba City CA
This is a bit of short notice but October 10th, 2010 the Annual Miladi Fall Classic Shotokan Karate tournament will be hosted in Yuba City. I will be attending and participating (Kumite and Kata).
Due to my studies and hectic work schedule I have not been able to devote myself liek I typically do to my karate, and have had even less time for physical conditioning. I do not expect to perform well, but I hope this tournament will provide me some motivation. As it has been said "Strength is not always winning, but overcoming obstacles, win or lose"
I wanted to see if anyone else would be attending this tournament, would love a chance to connect with fellow budo-ka and martial arts enthusiasts.

I hope you did well and had a good time at this event.

Yes I did. I was really inspired in this tournament too. It helped me to pick up the Karate with a bit more ardour. I placed 1st in Kata and 2nd in Kumite (unfortunately the guy accidently kicked my ankle when I was firing a kick twice so I was injured). Other than a pesty injury I am back at it again.
I also had the previlege of viewing a spectacular martial artist in the black belt diviosion. I am not sure on the spelling but his name was Adiki Ishikawa. He was very disciplined, lightning fast, and accurate. Overall a very enjoyable event. I definitely like the Japanese (traditional) tournaments a lot more than open, but I will make an effort to attend both.
