Mike Massie's "Starting A Martial Arts School" ?
Has anybody used this web service? It's very expensive, so I'm wondering if it could really be worth it. I downloaded "Mike Massie's Top 100 Drills and Games" manual and was not impressed, mostly because it contained activities that, in my opinion, were inappropriate for children. Perhaps his business acumen is better?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!"A sword is useless in the hands of a coward"

Mike has excellent advice for running a martial arts school, though he often runs counter to the advice of the big school advocates (NAPMA, MAIA, etc.). His original book Small Dojo Big Profits has helped many a school turn around their business.
The big question is how much coaching do you need on the business side of a school? If you aren't up to date on marketing, operations management, and the like, $97/mo might be cheap compared to what it will cost you to make all the mistakes yourself and survive them. If you feel comfortable at learning on your own you might also take a look at John Graden's Martial Arts Teacher's Association at $25/mo. Graden has been talking about and teaching the martial arts business side longer than just about anyone.Barry McConnell

I guess I got lucky when I locked in at $17.95 in the beginning. It's month by month so I say join for a month or two, see what he has, and then make your decision. I highly recommend Mike's stuff.
Jiu-Jitsu - like chess, except you get to choke people.
