Judo Training Video
Tony's posting some great karate videos. I thought I try to add some videos for judo. Here's one showing 3 person Uchikomi

This is a great way to develop power in your technique.

Here's a video of Nage-No-Kata . This was the first place winner at a tournament at the Kodokan in 2007.

I like the demo but I take issue with the Tsuri-Komi-Goshi at 2:37. Tori should not enter so low at first. He attacks with a hip throw but uke resists and pushes his belly forward. Then tori lowers more, placing his buttock against the thigh above the knee to make the throw. Otherwise a very nice demonstration.
It also shows some of the self defense aspects of judo with the defense against strikes.

Awesome! I enjoyed those tremendously. I look forward to more.

Good videos Dennis. I liked the three-man uchikomi, but really do hate it when Tori "winds-up" beforehand. That tends to follow people into randori/shiai, and we all know that telegraphing your intended waza is never a good idea.

Great clips, Dennis.

BTW, any good ones on kuzushi? I have a family member studying TKD and they throw in an O goshi here and there, and nobobdy that I've seen in their org's clips, and I mean nobody, has the slightest conception of unbalancing to setup the throw. I'd like a good clip to send him a link on. Thanks.

I realize you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I am not so sure about is whether what you think you heard is what I think I meant.

I've used that first technique on this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9T4sEuUbkxw) frequently when working at the pubs.
I always doubted that anyone would telegraph a swing THAT much and never, ever figured I could step through and get behind the guy like that but, somehow, it worked every time. I'm still not sure why.
Strange, I thought the training for that particular duck-under-and-slip technique was just nonsense and even in this video it looks impractical but the darned thing worked great.
Someday, I hope, I'll be able to better understand what I'm seeing when I see it.I realize you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I am not so sure about is whether what you think you heard is what I think I meant.
