Cool!
Our neighborhood is filled with Sikhs. They're wonderful neighbors. Mellow but very squared away. My daughter plays with one family a lot.
I wonder if there is any Sikh martial arts around here. Could be cool.I realize you think you understand what you thought I said, but what I am not so sure about is whether what you think you heard is what I think I meant.

Very cool. I have read that they were quite deadly at throwing those sharpened rings (can't remember the name of them now).

Though I am totally unfamiliar with this art, there is a teacher's reminder in this post. Any of our arts, and more particularly the less popular and littleknown ones are but a generation away from being lost. As instructors we all need to strive fro those worthy students to entrust the knowledge to. Pass it on from generation, to generation, to generation.
Honor is a language universally understood, yet spoken by few.

Chakar, at least according to the above video or Chakram from the Wiki entry.

The frisbee like round disc in the rajput, is called a chakram, and it has a range of 25 yards.
If there is a small amount of actual Masters of this art, there is an ample amount of practitioners, so it is not actually 'dying' as I have heard.

Did you read the article or are you commenting on the comments in this thread? The thread is about Shastar Vidya and it's only living master, Nidar Singh, not the Chakram. The Chakram is just a single weapon which is part of Shastar Vidya (and other Indian arts), and no one said it was in danger of dying out. Calling the Chakram itself an "art" is like calling the Nunchaku an "art". It's sometimes best to read the topic of a thread before commenting.

I really hopes he succeeds in finding a worthy successor. It would be a shame to see this art lost forever.
