Independence Day Fireworks Canceled in Oregon because of sea birds
The Federal government is canceling fireworks in Depoe Bay, Oregon, so they don't disrupt the sea birds in the area.

A chap I know in Arkansas posted this yesterday;
Send some of that rain here, It has been 4 months here with less that 1" of rain and temps 100+F, stock ponds are drying up(exposing some rather large and mean turtles) wells are drying up, gardens are burning up!
It is so bad here that our county judge called every one in the phone book reminding people that both burning and fireworks are banned! not going to be a typical "Independence Day" here!David Noble

When you are under a burn ban it's quite understandable to cancel fireworks. You don't need a wildfire to destroy lives and property on the scale that we've seen in Colorado. However, scaring sea birds it not a particularly good reason.
