There are a couple of words I'd use to describe what I've read. Without wanting to use bad language, the words 'circle' and 'sudden short movements' come to mind. A bunch of frauds validating each other, like the dolt who said Dux really fought in the Kumite (different article somewhere) because he'd seen him fight there, while he himself won 1st prize in a different weight category.

It is a good thing for Ron that the "Stolen Glory" law has been deemed unconstitutional.

However, if you think about all the ex- military types that run this site, it was good fortune for Ron we banned him when we found out he had criminal history of contributing to the delinquency of minors. I don't know the specifics, and I don't know if it was a plea bargain down from something else, but I would not want him sending messages to youngsters on any board I was part of.

That reinforces my view that many neo-ninjas are unbalanced, dangerous folk.

Yes it may not be historically correct, but they do offer a outlet for some people who are wanting to be a part of something. And if they break that trust, like Ron has, then they deserve to be the plaything of Bubba in the showers everyday for the next 25 years.

You know, I have never seen a "neo" that really did much other than lower the quality in general of the martial arts. Even those that are not outright frauds are folks that decide they are so good that after a few years they can be their own masters. Of course they give excuses and make claims of still being a student first, but they don't walk the walk. I know guys that have been studying martial arts for 50 years and still have a teacher they go to regularly for correction. How can I respect anyone in his 20s who strikes out on their own?

And "Neo ninja" are worse in how they give support to folks like Collins. They band together and really don't look into the veracity of the claims of others. They make excuses as to everyone just trying to learn as much as they can, but the reality is more like that if they did ask for proof that folks like Collins had a real teacher, they would not be as large a group or force. There is power in numbers, and in order to grow their groups into larger ones they let Collins get away with what he does.

Someone like Collins who lies about his martial arts and military experience rarely is a bad egg in only one aspect of his life. It is not surprising that he has such an attraction towards little girls. Using martial arts is a good way to attract victims. Anyone who associated with him knowing he had a prior conviction involving a 13 year old is at least partially to blame in my book,

Some might not actually lie themselves. But I can't think a single one off the top of my head that has not rubbed shoulders and thus given tacit support with complete frauds. As long as they get some benefit they don't seem to care if others are taken in.

And not a single one impresses me with their level of understanding. I am not the best, and need to keep going for further insight, but I am far better than any of the incompetents that call themselves a "neo- ninja."
