Traditional Kung Fu in Arizona
Gassho,
I used to practice Shorinji Kempo, but unfortunately there is no branch here in Phoenix/Tempe, AZ. I want to continue my training towards a traditional pure chinese style. It's been difficult to find a school here because many of them seem to have lost their zen/taoist roots. Does anybody know a good and respectable school in the valley that offers a traditional, pure, honorable, still rooted on zen or tao system of kung fu such as the praying mantis, crane, hsing-i, white eyebrow? Nothing against wing tsun, but I'm more interested in systems more closely related to zen or tao. Pure tai chi would not do it either unless it's taught aiming for chi gong AND combat.
Thanks, kesshu.

"Green Mantis Kung Fu" on University and Alma School in Mesa, just across from AT&T. Talk to Martin...you won't be disappointed.

I'm Also looking for a good Kung Fu school. I would prefer Northern Shaolin Style, I agree it seems to be hard to find a good Kung Fu School here

I know plenty of southern CMA's there, but not too much in the way of Northern. Let me know if you're interested in southern CMA.

Hello,
I am 20 years old. I am an ASU student. I am looking for a serious Kung Fu school. I want to train hard and eventually travel to china, if i can afford it (years from now). I am very much interested in the mental aspect as the physical aspects and would love to find a school / teacher who has roots in Kung Fu. I live around broadway and the 101. My aim sn is ENTHAWIZEGUY and my email is ENthawizeguy@yahoo.com.
Thank You,
Ian Datz

Please do not cross post the same question. Someone will see your first inquiry and hopefully be able to help you.
