Burglar Gets Away With Police SWAT Gear
    02-16-2005 2:46 AM

(River Ridge, LA) -- A burglar in River Ridge, LA made off with some high-powered weapons and SWAT team gear. A Trooper had parked his SUV at the Oak Leaf Apartments in River Ridge. Police say someone broke into a string of vehicles including the one containing sniper rifles, other firearms, night vision gear, and body armor. A spokesman says it's the kind of equipment used for stand-offs or hostage situations. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office and State Police are investigating and trying to recover the gear.

A couple years back, the Chief of Police in my town went into a convenience store, when he came back out his service Glock was missing from under his front seat......smart move, eh?
