Manseido Aikido
Hi, I am new 2 this forum and new 2 Aikido. I am interested in joining a Aikido school, there is a Manseido school in my area. Anyone have any experience with this style, how is it different?? I am located in Vancouver and the teacher at the school is John Zitnik?? Any info?? I like the school but I can only make 2 classes a week due 2 school and work. Thanks, Francis furlong.

Don't know much about the style or the teacher other than to say that the founder was one of Ueshiba M.'s pre-war deshi. He was uchideshi for a year and eventually promoted to 9th Dan by Ueshiba M. in 1961. They are not part of the Aikikai but then that is not unusual for pre-war deshi.

Frankly speaking - if you are enjoying the class keep going. You might want to ask the teacher where he learned the style from, if he did study with the head of the style, but I wouldn't sweat it.Last edited by Peter Rehse; 04-14-2005 at 04:11.
